Privacy policy

Effective September 14, 2026

This policy describes information handled when you use Cubic Yards to Tons or email its developer. The calculator does not require an account, and I have not added advertising or analytics tracking to the site.

Your calculations stay in your browser

The calculator runs on your device. Amounts, densities, dimensions, quote details, supplier notes and results are not submitted to a calculation server. Copy, CSV download and print are actions you choose; the resulting text or files are handled by your device and any service you later share them with.

Optional remembered settings

Choosing Remember settings on this device stores calculator information in this browser’s local storage. This includes the direction, amount, selected units and material, density and any override, allowance, payload, prices, condition and notes. It is stored under this website’s own origin, rather than in an online account.

Uncheck that option or press Reset in the calculator to remove its saved settings. You can also clear this site’s data in your browser settings. Clearing stored data does not remove CSV files or copies you have saved elsewhere. This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies.

Hosting and technical requests

Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site. Visiting a page creates technical requests, which may include your IP address, browser information, requested address, time and security-related data. Cloudflare may process this information to deliver and protect the website. Keeping calculation inputs local does not mean that page visits produce no technical information. Cloudflare describes its handling in its privacy policy.

When you email me

Messages to contact@cubicyardstotons.org pass through Cloudflare Email Routing and are delivered to a Gmail inbox. Those providers may process your email address, name, message content, attachments and related delivery information. Google’s handling is described in its privacy policy.

I use support messages to respond, investigate problems, make corrections and handle your requests. Please send only information needed for the issue. I keep correspondence only as long as needed for these purposes and any applicable obligations; email providers may also keep information according to their own policies.

Questions, removal and future changes

To ask about this policy or request deletion of correspondence I hold, email contact@cubicyardstotons.org. Settings saved solely in your browser need to be removed there. External reference links take you to other websites with their own privacy practices.

If the site’s data practices change, I will update this page and its effective date. This policy describes the current site.
